This series is a statement about love. Loving your friends, family, partner, and community. Love is something that you do over and over again, even when you think you’re done, when you’re unsure, when it’s childish, especially when it’s your truth, a project near and dear to The Artist Oliver James, and years in the making.

A series for World Pride 2025: Exhibit at The Ven on Embassy Row in Washington, DC. The Artist Oliver James, along with other artists, was asked to create a painting(s) that represented the love of community that set us free to be and love as our authentic selves. Let’s Stand For Love means standing in love, and I hope that is my legacy.

Thank you to all the other artists who participated in “WORLD PRIDE 2025: LET’S STAND FOR LOVE!” art exhibit. Thank you to The VEN Embassy Hotel/The Avenue Gallery and Greg Scott for putting together an amazing exhibit. These portraits will be on display at The Avenue Gallery from May - September 2025.

Using acrylic paint on 24"x 42" plywood, this painting is 3D and more than half an inch thick at the top of the painting. This Note Pad style with childish handwriting and colorful words allows for a feeling that words can't adequately explain. I Love You sometimes isn't enough.
